On our workmanship

Quiet, smart openers fitted the same day

When it is time for a new opener, we fit quiet belt-drive and direct-drive units with Wi-Fi control, battery backup for blackouts, and rolling-code remotes. The technician installs it, programs every remote and the app on your phone, and tests the safety reverse before leaving. Most installs take under two hours.

Remotes, keypads and sensors

Lost remotes replaced and the old codes wiped, wireless keypads fitted for kids and tradies, and safety beams aligned or replaced when the door refuses to close. If your door opens on its own or won't close in sunlight, it's nearly always the sensors — a quick fix.

Motor repairs from $169

Opener repairs start from $169 and new openers are quoted supplied and fitted, with no call-out fee. Fixed price before we start, and every motor we fit carries the manufacturer's warranty plus our workmanship warranty.

Repair first, replace when it makes sense

Most 'dead' openers aren't dead. Worn gears, a failed logic board, a tired capacitor, a stripped drive or a misaligned safety sensor are everyday repairs for Ironclad Garage Door Repair, and we carry the common parts for Merlin, B&D, ATA, Chamberlain, Steel-Line and Gliderol openers. We'll tell you honestly when a motor is worth repairing and when a new one is the better spend.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

The motor runs but the door doesn't move. What is it?+

Usually a stripped drive gear or a disconnected trolley — both quick repairs. Occasionally it's a snapped spring, which we also fix on the spot.

Can you fit a smart opener I can control from my phone?+

Yes. We fit Wi-Fi openers with app control, and most include battery backup so the door works in a blackout.

My remote stopped working. Do I need a new opener?+

Rarely. It's usually the remote battery, a lost code or a worn remote. We reprogram or replace remotes on the spot.

Do you service all brands?+

Yes — Merlin, B&D, ATA, Chamberlain, Steel-Line, Gliderol, Centurion and more.
